Dread full plate by ArtisansdAzure Dread full plate by ArtisansdAzure

This armour is ont of our most extravagant project. The armour is entirely made of metal and leather. But she is built as an leather armour, so we get all the flexibility that leather armour bring to the welder.

The armour is made of 16g steel, buffelo leather and the horns are made in foam.

Good job! =)

My first thought is that it must clatter a lot less than a normal armour. Would be neat for a little sneaking around. ;)

Which is why half-plate makes great heavy armor if you are the opportunistic archer. Leather, when used correctly as backing, eliminates virtually all metal-on-metal contact, thereby muffling movement noise.

I think he looks less like an archer (he won't be able to move those arms much) and more like cavalry, what with the ribbon skirt that you can sit on a horse with. But then, it's a cool-looking fantasy armor. I doubt utility was at the top of the list. :D

The armor has more mobility than you think. I have armor that I made and I can move my arms exactly the way I normally would. The trick is in what you use to hold the pauldrons on. Using a couple of leather straps is ideal because leather is flexible and durable. Trust me, that armor has articulated joints. Otherwise, it wouldn't make sense to make or wear it.

that's very impressive, nice work
although i'm just wondering, isn't 16 grams of steel a bit on the low side for making the entire armour, or is something else meant with the 'g' then 'grammes'?

ow, and on a side note, there are some errors in the English part, or you replace it is up to you, but here is the part without the errors I noticed

Looks really cool, as well as flexible :)
From a purely practical perspective, though,
I'd like more neck protection, especially from
side-swings grazing the pauldrons.

The client asked them , he wanted them pointing to the sky we putted them like this , he goes to a larp that hit to the head are accepted , with horns on the helm... ouch can't imagine the neck pain after that. Helms deflect hits , horns stop them. But... It's what the client wanted we do it.

Thanks for the black outline comment^^
